Speaking the Truth in Love to Homosexuals

"We must learn to address the issue of homosexuality and other difficult sexual issues with candor, directness, and unembarrassed honesty. This is not an hour for prudish denial. To fail at the task of speaking clearly and directly to this issue is to fail to speak where God has spoken ...

To the homosexual, as to all others, we must speak in love, never in hatred. But the first task of love is to tell the truth, and the sign of true hatred is the telling of a lie. Those who genuinely love homosexuals are not those who would revolutionize morality to meet their wishes, but those who will tell them the truth and point them to the One who is the way, the truth, and the life (see John 14:6)."

Where God's Strength is Perfected

GORDON FEE
"God's strength is perfected not in His delivering His Messiah from crucifixion, nor in delivering His apostle from physical suffering, but is seen in the crucifixion itself, and in the apostle's weaknesses."

All the Good Things (by Jill Phillips)

Forgive me for my shortsighted look at this world
Where you keep proving that you know what you’re doing

If I could see like you do with your perspective view
The fires I’m walking through would look much different
I’d see those difficult days for who they made me become
And I would count them among
All the good things You’ve done for me.

Our Idolatrous Tendencies

RUSSELL MOORE
"There are very few people in Christian churches who have ever danced in worship around a cow statue. But the Scripture warns us that our forefathers weren't especially aberrant. There remains before all of us, everywhere, a pull toward a golden calf spirituality."
